FINE ART DOG PORTRAITS
REFUND AND RETURNS POLICY
Last updated: September 2026
I want you to be completely happy with your Dave Drew Fine Art artwork. This policy explains your rights if you change your mind about a Collection purchase, need to cancel a Private Commission, or receive artwork that is damaged, faulty or not as described.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Collection Artwork
Artwork purchased from the Dave Drew Fine Art Collection is individually produced to order in the size and framing option selected by the customer.
Where you purchase one of the standard Collection artworks using the standard size and presentation options offered on the website, your statutory rights relating to online purchases apply.
Changing Your Mind About a Collection Purchase
For standard Collection purchases made online, you normally have 14 days from the day you receive your artwork to tell me that you wish to cancel your order.
Once you have notified me, you normally have a further 14 days to return the artwork.
Please contact me before returning anything so that I can provide the appropriate return instructions.
The artwork must be returned with reasonable care and, wherever possible, in its original protective packaging.
Return Delivery Costs
Where you are returning standard Collection artwork simply because you have changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning the artwork.
Because framed artwork can be large, fragile and valuable, I strongly recommend using an appropriately insured and trackable delivery service.
If artwork is being returned because it is faulty, damaged or not as described, reasonable return arrangements and costs will be handled by Dave Drew Fine Art as appropriate.
Refunds for Collection Returns
Where a valid cancellation has been made under your statutory cancellation rights, the appropriate refund will be made in accordance with those rights.
A refund may be reduced where the artwork has been handled beyond what would reasonably be necessary to inspect it and its value has consequently been diminished.
Bespoke or Special Collection Orders
If you request artwork in a genuinely bespoke size, frame, finish or presentation that is not one of the standard options offered for that Collection piece, different cancellation rights may apply.
Where an order is being made specifically to your individual requirements and is therefore exempt from normal change-of-mind cancellation rights, this will be made clear before you place the order.
Your statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods are unaffected.
Private Commissions
Private Commission artwork is individually created from photographs of your own dog and is therefore personalised specifically for you.
A 50% advance payment is required to secure your portrait sitting.
If you need to cancel before the sitting or before substantial work has begun, please contact me as soon as possible. Any refund or cancellation charge will take account of work already undertaken and any genuine costs or losses incurred.
After Approval of a Commissioned Portrait
Following your portrait sitting, you will select the photograph from which your finished portrait will be created.
You will then have the opportunity to approve the finished painterly portrait before the remaining balance becomes payable.
Once you have approved the portrait, paid the outstanding balance and the finished artwork has been submitted for professional printing and framing, the order cannot normally be cancelled or returned simply because you have changed your mind, as the artwork has been created specifically for you.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the finished artwork is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Damaged or Faulty Artwork
Every finished piece is personally inspected by Dave Drew Fine Art before it is supplied to you.
If your artwork arrives damaged, faulty or is not as described, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible.
Where possible, please provide photographs showing:
-
the damage or fault;
-
the complete artwork; and
-
the packaging in which it arrived.
Please retain the original packaging until the matter has been resolved, as it may be required for a claim with the delivery company or production laboratory.
Remedies for Damaged or Faulty Artwork
Where artwork is faulty, damaged or not as described, I will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement or refund.
You will not be required to bear reasonable return or replacement delivery costs where goods are being returned because they are faulty, damaged or not as described.
Digital Images
Digital images supplied as part of a Private Commission are provided for personal, non-commercial use under the licence described in the Dave Drew Fine Art Terms & Conditions.
Once a digital image has been supplied, it cannot itself be physically returned.
This does not affect any statutory rights that may apply where digital content is faulty or has not been supplied as agreed.
How to Request a Cancellation, Return or Refund
Please contact Dave Drew Fine Art through the Contact page if you wish to cancel an eligible order, arrange a return or report damaged or faulty artwork.
Please include your name, order details and a brief explanation of the reason for contacting me.
I will respond with the appropriate next steps.
